SHARE Greater Lynchburg was born out of a COVID-19 Coordinating Committee organized in April 2020 by Ron Feinman to help our local community find solutions for weathering the economic and health impacts of COVID-19. SHARE Greater Lynchburg is the result of a group of dedicated leaders bringing this solution to the Greater Lynchburg region and working together to raise funds from corporations and foundations to make it a reality. It puts local residents directly in touch with their favorite local nonprofits, as well as introducing them to nonprofits they didn't know existed. Their website serves as a database of over 100 different nonprofit organizations throughout Central Virginia.

The SHARE Greater Lynchburg website serves as the main place for people to connect with a variety of nonprofits and show their support. There is no cost to the nonprofits that are listed and the site is available to anyone who has internet access. Some of the functions of the website include:
1. Find a Nonprofit
It can be difficult to find local nonprofits that match our personal mission and drive...especially when so many nonprofits get created every year. This tool was created to help you find the nonprofit that fits your cause the best! With over 100 nonprofits listed, this is a great way for you to gain knowledge on what types of things are around that you can put your time or money towards. Finding a nonprofit has never been so simple.
2. Volunteer
Ever wanted to volunteer, but just not sure where? This function lists various volunteer opportunities throughout the region. You can filter through different opportunity types and even find things that are located close to you. Once you click on the opportunity, you are given more details and sent to a volunteer application form, making it easier for the nonprofits to keep up with who is signing up to help at their event/community service project.
3. Shop for Good
It's no secret that nonprofits sell things or need assistance when providing items to those they serve. SHARE Greater Lynchburg wanted to simplify this task by providing a specific list of needed products that you can buy for a nonprofit and have the comfort of knowing it is getting shipped directly to them. With over 500 different products to choose from, you can choose what you are most comfortable giving. These tangible items include office supplies, hygiene products to distribute, nonprofit merchandise, and other wishlist items from the nonprofits.
4. Donate
Sometimes you may not want all of the hassle, but still want to support a local nonprofit organization. SHARE Greater Lynchburg has made it very simple to make a monetary donation. All funds go directly to the organization by linking you directly to their donation form.
