Not all students will be accepted as there are a limited number of slots.
Selections will be made based on the student's geographical area, desire to serve on the committee, and recommendation.
YPC members must be:
• In 12th grade during the 2024-2025 academic year in the city of Lynchburg or the counties or Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, or Campbell.
• In good standing academically.
• Able to provide their own transportation to meetings after school hours at the Central Virginia Community College campus in Lynchburg.
YPC members will be expected to:
• Attend approximately 5 in-person meetings of the Youth Philanthropy Council
• Check and respond to emails.
• Thoughtfully read and review grant applications.
• Collaborate in a group setting with a diverse group of students and adults.
• Respectfully share and discuss ideas and opinions with others who may have differing perspectives or experiences.
• Make an oral presentation together with a team.
